We caught up with Janice for a quick Q&A to get the inside scoop on what she’ll be bringing this year to BullCon17. Check it out.

Hi Janice! We’re so glad to have you on our #BullCon17 speaker lineup. Please tell us a bit about your topic and what to expect from your workshop.

Having worked in predominantly non-diverse male environments, I’ve constantly been the person used to show that the company hires women and minorities. This could have left me upset, but instead I used this as an opportunity to get more leadership responsibilities, stand out, and surpass my teammates in career evolution. This session will inspire and motivate the audience to celebrate what makes them unique, and use it as a powerful tool to change the status quo and advance their careers.

Thanks! This is your first Bullish Conference, how did you find out about us?

I found out Bullish through a friend of mine. My company, The Mentor Method, hosts intimate brunches for 10-15 inspiring women in DC called the “Power of Culture” brunch. We talk about championing for change in the workplace for inclusion, mentorship, and how we can support each other. An incredible fellow entrepreneur shared a link to apply to speak at BullCon17 and I knew I had to throw my hat in the ring.

Can you tell us more about The Mentor Method?

The Mentor Method is the new inclusion movement, and we’re looking for others to join us in our mission to create inclusive workplace cultures through mentoring diverse talent. We’re hiring a technical cofounder, and would love to work with tech and tech-enabled companies to run a pilot with The Mentor Method. If you’re tired of wasting time, money and energy on stale corporate mentoring programs and hiring practices that don’t work, it’s time to change. Partner with The Mentor Method to meet your next great hire, and meet a mentor you can trust.
